VPN IP Configuration
Hi guys.. Sorry to bother with an nooby type question but this is an issue that I need to sort out ASAP. I am running a SBS2003 server at the office and need some of the staff to login from home.. The problem is this. The staff uses laptops which are all configured with static IP addresses.. Server = 192.168.0.1 Laptop1 = 192.168.0.2 Laptop2 = 192.168.0.3 etc.etc. Server is setup for Remote access and to be honest, the clients connect and verifies username and password 100%.. I think my problem is with routing,, since they are still using the same local IP address of 192.168.0.x they cant find the server on 192.168.0.1. Understandably when I change my local IP address to 192.168.1.x then I can connect to the server. I understand that my server can assign a different range of IP addresses to the VPN-clients upon login and that is OK.. I have tried with a VPN subnet of 192.168.5.x... the problem is then that MS Outlook is not able to find my Exchange Server... Where is my problem? what am I doing wrong here.. Is there a document with a step by step guide to setting up the server with example IP addresses etc? My apologies again for this rookie question. All suggestions would be apprieciated. Thank you, Kenneth

Kenneth, have you reviewed any of the guidance here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/vpn/default.mspx For example, there is a Step-by-Step on how to setup of a remote access VPN with WS03 RRAS: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7e480471-4480-4175-962c-4d3c27e8c7d2&DisplayLang=en Here's another guide that might be helpful: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/7159a5cd-530b-4b8f-b54a-9a8adfdeac1b1033.mspx?mfr=true
