VMM 2012 R2 Installing Admin Console Hangs (Gathering Required Information)

When I try to install the VMM 2012 R2 Admin Console on a Windows 7 machine with updated C++ redistributables, the install hangs on "Gathering required information."  To Get a log I ran the MSI:

msiexec /package adminconsole.msi /log c:\temp\adminconsole.log

Here is the log:

There been any progress on this issue?

Try install VMM Console under local administrator account. Works for me.

I have tried this before and tried it again today.  It says that VMM must be installed from a domain account and cannot be installed form a local account.

Please try this:

%VMM_CD% - path to SCVMM mounted or extracted ISO
cd %VMM_CD%
\amd64\Setup\msi\Client\
msiexec /i adminconsole.msi /log c:\temp\adminconsole.log

If error can you provide adminconsole.log?

Oh it is early here..  I see what you are doing.  Just changing path to the msi for the adminconsole and running it from command line with a log option.  I will run that now.
February 25th, 2014 2:13pm

It is now installed!   Although, I get a message back failure to connect ID: 1602.  The firewall is off, so I am thinking an SQL permissions issue....

Well the problem was a bit bigger.  The System Center VMM Manager stopped as a service on the host.
February 25th, 2014 2:41pm

I had exactly this problem. Turned out to be Logitech SetPoint software. Killed that and the install went through. Would be interesting to know if you have that installed?

No I'm not.

I went up to Windows 8.1 and then changed the order of the installs so this worked for me.  It wasn't solving the problem, but I got around the initial issue.
