Hello, I am running a virtual WDS server on vmware. I want to capture a WDS boot image for Windows XP. I am installing the XP image on a virtual machine. is it possible to capture the OS image from the VM then deploy the boot image to a physical machine?

You cannot deploy the image to the physical machine as the hardware drivers are different for virtual and physical machines. These can be done to some other process .. but if you post your question to the correct forum

Defeats the purpose of "hardware independent" image! Why should anyone spend half a day, trying to build a sample PC, fight with the drivers, and then run SYSPREP so that it can remove machine specific info so that the image can be deployed to dissimialr hardware? I cant think of one good reason.
