Using Enclosure Awareness in Storage Spaces

I would like to use enclosure awareness for JBOD redundancy. But each JBOD is displayed as 4 separated enclosure numbers - 2 numbers on the forward backplane and 2 on the backward. Each number is associated with either SSD or HDD.

Is it possible to set up the Storage Spaces so that Enclosure Awareness would consider a group of 4 numbers as one JBOD?

We use SuperMicro trays as JBODs. It's not certified by Microsoft yet, but the SuperMicro say that they are in progress and it will be soon certified.

Hi,

There is no option to manually select disks in creating virtual disks.

Currently we only have a parameter in creating enclosure awareness virtual disks which is -isenclosureaware for example:

New-VirtualDisk StoragePoolFriendlyName StoragePool FriendlyName VirtualDisk1 ResiliencySettingName Mirror ProvisioningType Fixed Size 10TB IsEnclosureAware $True
