I'd look at turning off UAC, long enough to write whatever files you need to write, then turning it back on.Eric Irvin, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP:Enterprise Admin, CISSP http://www.diggingup.com

Hi,Try Eric's suggestion. If turning off UAC is not an option, you can try to use ICACLS.EXE to explicitly grant your account full rights on the C:\ root folder. Try running this from the CLI:icacls.exe c:\ /grant yourAccount:F /T /CRegards,Salvador Manaois IIIMCITP | Enterprise & Server AdministratorMCSE MCSA MCTS(x5) CIWA C|EH My Blog: Bytes and Badz

Hi, UAC warnings is normal. If it prompt for your consent, the behavior is by design if the following conditions are true: The user account is a member of administrators group but not the built-in administrator account. UAC is enabled on the system. C drive is the system drive, and you tried to copy file to C:\, C:\Windows\ or C:\Program Files\ For more information, please refer to the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cc507861.aspx Thanks. Hi,The UAC is not really the problem, infact quite happy to leave enabled... the issue was even after accepting the UAC warning the file system still denied access. I was also unable to install applications whilst logged in as this other user.I guess what seems odd, if having a user account and upon makingit amember of the admin group, if the system is still going to reject operations while this account is logged in what is the point of permitting admin rights in the first place. Seems abit strange. Might have been an idea to add a Super Admin group giving us access to this extra granularity. Not to worry; I believe Salvador has given me the fix; thanks for all your help.Regards
