User Profile Error Messages - Cannot log into a 2k8 R2 server if the credentials are not cached.
Hi, I have a virtualized Exchange Server that has a broken user profile. The system details of the server is: Windows Server 2008 R2 - All Updates until December 22nd, 2010. Exchange Server 2010 SP1 - Update Roll Up 2 Whenever you try to log on with a user that does have the credentials cached you get this error message: “User Profile Service services failed the logon.” “User profile cannot be loaded.” Then the screen closes on it's own. This are the events that are displayed that I beleive are in relation to this. Event 1530, User Profile Service. Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. DETAIL - 2 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-3838903038-1827114872-594837797-12525: Process 11484 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-3838903038-1827114872-594837797-12525 Process 924 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-3838903038-1827114872-594837797-12525\Printers\DevModePerUser ------- Event 1500, User Profile Service Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, and that your network is functioning correctly. DETAIL - Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed. ------- Event 1511, User Profile Service Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Someone mentioned that I should try and copy the default user profile from an working server and see it that works. Any ideas?Treadstone
