Usage basis for billing

Hello

I have set up a virtual machine.  What is the usage basis for billing?

If I am logged off (have not used Shutdown), am I billed?

If I use the machine and walk away without logging off, am I billed?

If I close the browser without logging off, am I billed?

Thanks

Karl

Greetings, Karl!

If I am logged off (have not used Shutdown), am I billed? - Yes

If I use the machine and walk away without logging off, am I billed? - Yes

If I close the browser without logging off, am I billed? - Yes

Only when the Azure VM reaches a state of "Stopped, De-allocated" as seen on Azure Management Portal, the usage / billing stops as the resources utilized for the VM is snapped.

Hope this clarifies!

Thank you,

Arvind
