Upgrading from Windows 2008 R2 Web Edition to Windows 2008 R2 Standard

Server was inadvertently built with Windows 2008 R2 Web Server, is it possible to perform an in place upgrade / installation of Windows 2008 R2 Standard? Server is running in VMware - if this helps at all.

It support upgrade from Web to Standard edition.

Before doing in place upgrade backup your data first.
