Upgrading Win2k3 server to 2008 R2 server.
I am interested in upgrading my exisiting windows server 2003 R2standard edition with Service Pack 2 to a 2008 R2 server. This is my one and only Domain controller. It also provides file sharing, print server. Would it be feasible and okay to do an inplace upgrade? I realize that I need to makea very good backup of AD and files to ensure things go smoothly. I also realize that while in the process of upgrading the domain would be unavailable. I have a seperate exchange 2007 server and several other member application servers. Any advice is greatly appreciated and if you have any instructions or guides that I could follow to ensure a smooth upgrade I would appreciate it.Thanks,ZachZach

Syed's suggestion was very helpful. I have been doing a considerable amount of reading and will probably plan on doing an in place upgrade. Prior to doing this I am going to make an image of my existing 2003 server in case things don't properly I can just reimage and be back in business.Zach
