Upgrading Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V role to Server 2012
Hi, Can I upgrade my 2008 R2 which has Hyper-V installed as a role (not Hyper-V Server 2008), straight to Server 2012 and it'll upgrade the Hyper-V role too?

I believe you should be able to do it, but it requires the DataCenter license to upgrade 2008R2 to 2012...

If you are using existing virtual machines the Server 2012 standard is adequate assuming your VMs are properly licensed Windows MVP, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
