Upgrade trial Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 SP2 with NONE R2 Full?
Hello, Is it possible to upgrade a trial Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 SP2 (x64) with a Full retail version (x64) on disk WITHOUT R2 and SPs? If so is the process the same as the following post as this is a production server (Upgrade option when prompted during setup): http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/thread/84d815c7-f361-4129-96f4-1dc703c0eb91/ Thank you, Ramsey

Hello Hussain and Sainath, Thank you for the replies. Will the license key for NONE R2 work to upgrade from trial to full. If so wouldnt I just need a Win R2 CD? Wow, I really created a mess for myself, the server took days and cash to configure and now its in production. I have a none Windows R2 disk and a Windows Ent 08 sitting on the side, now Im in to drop more cashfor theR2. I would have never gone this route with the trial had I known how much of a head ache it would be to upgrade to full and the requirement for the R2. I was really under impression that I would just need to enter a full version serial to upgrade the trial like almost every other piece of software Ive ever purchased. Thank you, Ramsey

Hello, unfortunal you can not change just the key's, because of the different media types (trial and retail). You have to reinstall.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to the Forum
