Upgrade to Windows 2008 from Windows 2003 32 bit
Question:
Environment
Windows 32 bit Standard and Enterprise DC, File, Print, Exchange (2003) and SQL Servers (2005). We are looking to upgrade to Windows 2008.
1. Would it be possible to keep our current DCs at 32 bit Windows 2003 and be able to add Windows 2008 Servers into the domain? Or would we have to rebuild our DCs to Windows 2008?
2. If we have to rebuild the DCs with Windows 2008 how does this affect DFS and Exchange? Oh yea and SQL?
3. Is there any documentation on the first steps into upgrading your Windows 2003 environment to Windows 2008.
Thanks

Yes, you can add a 2008 server to the domain and prepare it for migration.
Prepare a Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 Forest Schema for a Domain Controller That Runs Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Using Ntdsutil.exe to transfer or seize FSMO roles to a domain controller

I'd ask them here about the SQL Server migration.
