Updating Windows Server without internet
I have two Dell servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 and would like to get the appropriate updates that are recommended. My limitation is neither of these servers have the ability to go on the internet. Am I able to capture the server's current installed patches/fixes/service packs in a file and use another computer to download the necessary updates? Is there another work-around for this type of situation?

As long as they have network access to another server that can get out to the Internet, you can use Windows Server Update Services, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/wsus/default.aspx -- Mike Burr

Hi blurb2m , Thank for posting here. After reading your post I understand that you are going to update a server which has no internet connectivity If I misunderstand please let me know. If these servers can access you internal network ? If yes, you may like to deploy WSUS service in internal network and download patch/fixes/service packs from Microsoft website, then set these two servers acquire update form your internal WSUS server. If not, then please following the steps blow to acquire update packets from Microsoft Catalog Site: 1. Access Microsoft Catalog (http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx) 2. Search keyword “windows server 2008 R2” and you can find all update of windows server 2008 R2. 3. Click “Add” to add update which you want to basket , then click “view basket” to download it. Thanks.
