Updates for windows Server
When you doing updates on windows server
Do you just do criticals and security updates?
Or you do all the updates that comes in for it? i mean windows server updates, rollups etcs?
I have seem rollups damaging servers...
What would be the best practices for this? when doing updates in my servers?
What you all experts in Windows server do?

Well, I actually review each of the updates. Most of the criticals get done, I scrutinize the recommended updates. You have to put some thought to it in that some updates may not be an issue (depending on the fix) to a server. I have multiple
servers, but I review updates differently if they are public facing (like my terminal & Website server) than if they are completely behind a firewall without a public facing access.
Good Luck...

Hi,
Please understand Microsoft releases updates to fix known issues and increase the stability and security of Windows, and we have tested as much of the
software environment as we could to improve the performance of updates. However, we cannot guarantee that all updates can install/work perfectly in all computers because every computer has different software and hardware environments. Security updates are
more important but other updates are also helpful to your systems. It is always recommended to test updates first in your company before put them in a production environment.
