Unable to record voice in Win2008 Server
We are trying to setup an environment wherein we have a Win2008 Server and users must be able to simultaneously login (Remote Desktop/MSTSC) into the system and should be able to listen to music and also record their voices in the sound recorder. This server is installed on a HP8100 Elite desktop PC whose specs are: 1. 4GB RAM 2. Hard disk of 320GB 3. Intel i3 Core processor Problem Description: 1. We have installed Realtek Audio Driver in the system. When a user takes a Remote of that system and plays any audio file on that system the user can listen to the playback in his PC. But he is not able to record his voice in the server.

Hi, It seems that the audio recording redirection is only available with Windows Server 2008 R2. For more information, you can refer to: Configure Audio Recording Redirection on an RD Session Host Server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd759231.aspx Audio recording redirection in Windows 2008 R2 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/d86fa5f5-7736-48d9-b51d-e96697ed344c Best Regards, Vincent Hu

Hi Vincent, I have installed the R2 version. and the configurations are done as per the links provided by you in the above reply. Still i am facing the same issue when the remote user logs into the system using mstsc. he is not able to record the voice he is getting an error dialog box saying an audio recording device cannot be found. FYI in the server i can successsfully record and playback the recording. Also in the remote system the user can record ad play back the recording. the remote system is XP SP3. regards, Ranjan Secret of happiness is to make others believe that they are the cause of it!!
