Unable to launch an application on a windows 2003 server
Hello: I was looking for a Windows 2003 forum but could not and so I am posting this issue here. I am running Windows 2003 Server SP2. I installed an application. I am unable to launch the application by doubling clicking on it. However, when I right-mouse click I get two options:: 1. Current user (it shows the user name) in brackets. I cannot launch the application with the checkbox (Run this program with restricted access) checked or unchecked. 1. Current user (it shows the user name) in brackets. 2. The following user: When I use the same User ID I am signed on as, I am able to launch the application. What's going on? Venki

It sounds like the user you are logged in as doesn't have enough rights, but I need more info What happens when you double-click the application? Do you recieve an error or some sort of notification? Is there an event generated within the event log? Have you tried turning on auditing on that server to increase the reporting on security events? http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/2e9f38b6-9e30-4de2-bd8d-e658ab9e1f6d1033.mspx?mfr=true Keep me posted...
