Unable to connect to Windows 10 machine on RDC

Cannot connect to my Windows 10 machine using Remote Desktop app on my Mac.

error message "Unable to connect to remote PC. Please verify Remote Desktop is enabled, the remote PC is turned on and available on the network, and then try again"

A connection can be established from another PC and from my IPAD using the Remote Desktop app.

I am using the exact same Remote Desktop settings as on my IPAD, which works.

I can ping my PC successfully from my Mac

I have tried, Disabling the Firewall and using PC Name and IPv4 address but no joy.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi,

I have a similar problem, except I'm not getting an error code. Mostly black screen then Microsoft Remote desktop connection times out. Occassionally, I start to see the windows 10 machine, before then cutting out again.

Is this a screen resolution / display issue?

I can establish connection without a problem from iPad app.

Have tried adjusting firewall settings too.

Anyone else worked this out?

Installing Windows 10 changes your network setting to PUBLIC instead of PRIVATE. Search for Homegroup (under Control panel) and reset your network to Private instead of Public.

Let us know if this solves your issue.
