I downloaded and installed longhorn 2008, and now it is prompting me to activate it... I try to but it keeps failing.... the following error code pops up... "an error occurred when windows tried to activate" error 0xc004e003 thank you

i cant help but would like to post saying i'm having the same issue, i've also tried over the phone and the Confirmation ID doesnt work as well says its not right. Finally when i was able to talk to someone the person doesnt seem to know what hes doing and keeps asking "Is this a retail box? or is it a copy that came preinstalled on the system?" when i tell him "i downloaded it off the microsoft website" he starts with the retail box thing after about 5 times in this circle i had to hang up. Please someone help i just installed the OS today and it wont let me do anything until its activated.

Get a new key here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/audsel.mspxPhone activation works fine (here in Sweden at least) and ought to work no matter where you call. All you need to supply is the installation id. Could MSFT acknowledge?
