Unable to access network file server
We are in midst of migration AD user. Due merger between our company and third party, the management decided to migrate the AD user from third party forest domain to our forest. The two trust between forest had been created. We had successfully move AD User (including SIDHistory) from third party domain to our domain. We give example the moved user is Migration01. Previously, on third party domain, Migration01 user able to access their file server on \\contoso\migration Once, we join Migration01 user PC to our domain, Migration01 unable to access \\contoso\migration. Error access is denied. I'm checked that the SIDHistory was copied. Please advice.

What if you use \\contoso.com\migration (I suppose here that contoso.com is the FQDN of your domain). If they are able to access it, make sure that on the client computers, NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled. Once done, try to add the contoso.com as a DNS suffix. This Microsoft article should help. Also check that all is okay with the NTFS and share permissions. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. Hi, Thanks for posting here. You may disable SID filtering with the steps in KB939089 on both domains first : Error message when you try to access shared resources on an Active Directory trusting domain: "Access is denied" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939089 After that enable Sidhistory on both sides with perform the following commands: Netdom turst <source domain> /domain:target domain /enablesidhistory (will give you the current status ) Netdom turst <source domain> /domain:target domain /enablesidhistory:yes ( enable that) Netdom Syntax http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781853(WS.10).aspx After that please check if this issue persist .
