Unable to Migrate/Create a VM in VMM when two network cards are attached to the VM

Hi all,

Got a weird issue where I am unable to migrate or create a VM in VMM when I attach a production NIC then our second DMZ NIC to the VM. If I only have the production NIC, Migration and creations works ok. But with the DMZ NIC I receive the following errors in the ratings explanation tab within the Migration window.

4 hosts in total - all exactly the same settings wise (DMZ network has 2 physical NIC's teamed LACP)

Both the Production and DMZ networks are set up the same apart from the usual variables (Vlan, IP's) which are different.

Good day,

I just want to clarify the following:

  • Are you migrating/creating the VMs on the same cluster?
  • Are you migrating/creating the VMs between standalone hosts only?

The Logical Network with its associated Network sites must be configured on the physical network interface (Fabric - <Host Group> - Server Properties - Hardware)

If you are using Logical Switches, the Logical switch configuration must be like-for-like between the source host and destination host with the same port profiles and classifications.

Hi Sir,

I have reproduced the first error :

(The issue is caused by the VM network was not bound to the physical NIC , you may check hardware tab in host's properties )

Hi Elton, the VM network is bound to the Physical adapter...

i have just put a twist on this question.

Any VM that has 2 network adapters and is associated to my cloud will not migrate and throw the above error in my first post.

If i don't associate the vm to my cloud i can migrate without any i
