I have assigned group policy for USB Mass storage device blocked . it's working fine through domain user. But I had login to local administrator then device manager i had removed mass storage then reconfigure now it's working local and also domain Why ? Your user configuration policy updated with a potential gpupdate but the system has to restart in order to receive and make full effect of a computer configuration policy. then i have shutdown my client and removed power cable from power supply unit few seconds . then insert i had switch on my client pc and login therough domain . now Mass storage device not working Why ? The policy refreshed on that system to take full effect. Now your Services\USBSTOR registry entry is 0 for disabled. (Reg Entry: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR = 0) Just disable the GPO and reboot that system after gpupdate. Run this command "gpupdate.exe /F /Boot" on your client for faster results. You are not performing tests in correct way. a) i have no idea what do you mean by removing mass storage device and why do you want to do this b) There is no need to remove the power cable after power off OS - strange. @steve , i believe the value should be 4 ? ( for already existing USB devices connected ?)

I think it is because that local Administrator account is not under control of domain group policy. After reconfig the device, driver is reinstalled, so though you login a domain user (without reboot), the device is still working as driver (which should be blocked by group policy) is installed. Reboot block the driver again.Shaon Shan |TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
