USB HUB and CD/DVD DRIVE DISABLED
I just re-installed Windows Sever 2003 on an i5 Quad Core system and all my USB hubs are disabled. I cannot access the DVD/CD drive either. When I check the Device Manager it shows that ALL my devices are working OK, but I still cannot use
any of my USB ports except the one with the Keyboard, and that also hangs intermitently. I have formated and installed WINDOWS 7 and Server 2008 on the same system and all the hardware work fine.
I need help either configuring the Server 2003 to recognize and enable the USB hubs because the OEM that I am testing for a client requires the use of Server 2003. Can anyone please help me?

are you joining a domain before testing the usb and dvd/cd? is there a gpo in your domain that disables usb and dvd/cd (using a custom adm template)?

Hi JNwonye,
Thanks for posting here.
In addition with Roy ,please update the latest driver software for your computer , you can obtain it from the hardware vendor website.
Meanwhile, please perform “diskmgmt.msc” and check if this device could be recognizable in disk management.
If yes , you might like to manually assign letter for these device.
Drive letters are not automatically assigned to dynamic volumes in Windows Server 2003
