UPS detected as Human Interface Device
Have the exact same issue with an identical server and UPS setup. Tripp-Lite tech support still hasn't come up with anything. We have always used APCs in the past, and should have stayed with them this time.

What is the brand/model of your UPS? I had a similar problem with an APC one. Do you have the UPS software (PowerChute for APC) installed? www.oguzpastirmaci.com

Didn't have any TrippLite before but here's how I solved my APC problem of which I still don't know the cause. - Remove the USB cable from server - Uninstall the UPS software (PowerAlert in your case) and any of its requirements (Java Runtime Environment for example). - Restart the server. - Restart the UPS. - Plug the USB cable. - Download the latest software from the manufacturer's web site and install it. www.oguzpastirmaci.com
