Turning off server causes loss of SSL certificate!
I have a Windows 2008 r2 server set up with the roles Active Directory, DNS, Hyper-V, IIS and Certificate Authority installed. All the proper certificates were installed and SSL was working properly. Even after several reboots, SSL continues to work properly. The ADWS event viewer was free of errors and warnings. The server was shut down and left off for several hours. On booting back up, ADWS reports an event warning #1400 "ADWS could not find a server certificate...." The certificates can be found in the certificate snap-in of mmc. Running netsch shows the correct Certificate Hash (aka Certificate Thumbprint). IIS continues to show the correct certificate is bound to the SSL port. Doing a restore from Certification Authority does not resolve the issue. To date, the only way to repair the problem is to uninstall CA, remove all the certificates for this server, reinstall CA with NEW KEYS (restoring from a prior key has not worked). Suggestions appreciated.
