Windows 2008 Enterprise Server Windows Update fails to connect Stand alone server - LAN only IE will not allow me to make any changes to the Security Tab in IE's Properties. I did a search on this and tried the answers I have found, but none have worked. I get a 8024402c error when I try to run Windows Update. It states "Windows Could Not Search For New Updates". I have tried the deletion of the windowsupdate service in registry. I have tried the various wuaserv fixes. I have deleted the Software Distribution folder. None of those have worked. Any more suggestions?

From Server Manager you can disable IE Enhanced Security (IE ESC), but going to the Security section and clicking the IE ESC link on the right. You should disable UAC also.
