Our previous file server died, the data was recovered and placed on a sun server. Now I have deployed a new file share server win 2008 R2 and need to move/copy the files/data to the new server. In the past I have used SyncToy for desktop, is there something similar for server 2008?

Please let me know ASAP please since I need to move the data back.

If the data on your sun server could be accessed like a shared folder, you should able to copy them to your new server with using xcopy or robocopy.

Is there any specific requirement in moving data? If not, a command like this is enough:

robocopy \\server\share x:\share /e

/E :: copy subdirectories, including Empty ones.
