To connect 2 PCs interconnected using a router

Yes, it is best to put both machines in the same workgroup to share files. If you share a file on one machine it should show up in My Network Places on the other machine. If it does not, you may have a network setup problem.Do an IPCONFIG from a command prompt on both machines.Bill

Yes, they must both be in the same workgroup. And I would recommend that you use accounts which have passwords.Bill
