The logon script won't always run
Hello, We have a weird problem. Through the Active Directory we have applied a logon script. This scripts works fine 99% of the time. However some times won't the script run. These are desktops with a wired connection. When the clients run the logonscript through a shortcut everything workes fine. The policy wait for the network to logon is also applied. This problem occures on different computers. So far we are unable to find any related events. Ony suggestion how I can solve this problem? Remco

What errors you can find in event viewer of client and/or of server when script doesn't run ?Edoardo Benussi - Microsoft MVP Management Infrastructure - Systems Administration https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/Profile/Benussi Windows Server Italian Forum Moderator edo[at]mvps[dot]org

Also, did you configure the logon script in a Group Policy? If so, does the policy apply to the domain or an OU in which all of the users reside? Can you confirm that the policy has been applied to the problem clients? Or, was the logon script configured on the "Profile" tab of ADUC? I guess I also have to ask how you know the logon script did not run. Perhaps it ran but failed. Does it do something you can check? Richard MuellerMVP ADSI

No it hasn't, just through the Active directory under the profile tab. The logon script makes some network drives. The customers reported the error because they didn't have any network drives. These are the first actions in the script.
