Terminal Services User Profile Migration
I have a Windows 2000 Terminal Server that I am looking to replace with a new Windows 2003 Terminal Server. We have approximatly 60 domain users who have logged onto the the 2000 server and created thier own profile including Outlook profile, desktop, my documents, etc.I would like to build the Windows 2003 Terminal Server using the same name as the old Windows 2003 Server and restore\migrate\copy\etc all the necessary user profile settings to the new 2003 server so that when the user logs onto the Windows 2003 Server for the first time I do not have to recreate all the settings such as Exchange Outlook profile, desktop shortcut etc. Please could someone let me know if this is possible and if so how to do it?Thanks

Yes it is possible and should be fairly easy. Copy the user profile from "C:\Documents and Settings" on the old server to the same location on the new server. Backup the registry entry "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Currentversion\ProfileList" on the old server and then import it on the new server. I would try this with one user profile at first and after ensuring that it works correctly I would copy the rest. Nick Smoke, ACTC, CCA, CNE, MCSE
