hi there, when you say custom shell i believe you have written the custom shell . if so then we need to debug custom explorer.exesainath !analyze

The Shell we run is Call Tradewind. We replace the the register key {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon} "Shell"="TWShell.exe"Window loads that shell instead of Explorer. So the explorer.exe is unchanged.

Hi, Please restore the register key back to see whether the same issue persists. Best regards, Vincent Hu

hi there, the only way to diagnize your issue is to collect the dumps and analyze them as to which module is causing the issue. Because the way windows shell behaves is different than the custom shells and any updates released are for the wndows default shell and not for custom shell. sainath !analyze

Yes I do agree with Sainath is to collect the dumps and diagnose the problem or else try installing the Process Explorer and see if the behaviour is same.http://technetfaqs.wordpress.com
