TCP connection closed

Hello,

On our SQL  (SQL 2012 SP 2) Cluster Server (AVGs) we  received  some 26073 Errors:

"TCP connection closed but a child process of SQL Server may be holding a duplicate of the connection's socket.  Consider enabling the TcpAbortiveClose SQL Server registry setting and restarting SQL Server. If the problem persists, contact Technical Support.

In this time we had Connection Problems with our BizTalk application.

I have found Information on this concerning SQL 2008 and 2008 R2. https://support.microsoft.com/de-ch/kb/2491214/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

But this issue was fixed with a CU update or regestry setting on SQL 2008 and 2008R2. Has someone had this on SQL 2012 Server and if yes was it solved with the above solution (regestry)?

Thank you

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

As discussed in this similar thread, Anti-Virus Software can also cause this issue. Could you please check that if there is Anti-Virus Scan running on your system?  Also you can follow the instruction in this KB article to choose antivirus software to run on computers that are running SQL Server .

In addition, add the SuperSocketNetlib\Tcp\TcpAbortiveClose value in the registry key for MSSQLServer as described in the KB article and check if the occur still occurs. Please take a backup of the key before make any changes on the registry keys.

Thanks,
Lydia
