System Restore
rstrui.exe is nowhere to be found in Windows Server 2008. Is System Restore supported on 2K8 server?In System Configuration > Tools > System Restore <Launch>Errors with 'The system cannot find the file specified';Selected commands points to: C:\Windows\System32\rstrui.exeFile is not in the %System32% root folderneither in %System32%\restore folderOS: Win2K8 64-Bit; on Dell PowerEdge.

TheWindows Serveroperating system family does not include System Restore. The System Restoreutility is built ininto Windows XP and Windows Vista.Syed Khairuddin

Interesting .... how would you explain the fact thatWindows Server System Configuration includes an option for System Restore. Quality Control issue? ... someone forgot the option in there?? The SP1 missed to fix it ... I don't think so.Windows Server 2K8 includes System Restore. The question is where is the executable (rstrui.exe) ?

Windows Server 2008 does not include System Restore.Quoting Microsoft Knowledgebase article926185:(at the bottom in the Notes section)Windows Server 2008 does not include the System Restore featureAlternatively you can use the Windows Backup and/or Previous versions/Shadow Copiesfunctionality.
