System Center 2012 R2 Requirements

Hi guys,

Currently I wish to use System Center 2012 R2 - Operations Manager Server to monitor my Hyper-V hosts (8 Physical Machines) and guests (50 Virtual Machines).

Would also like to use System Center 2012 R2 - ConfigMgr to manage about 500 computers.

Which Server 2012 edition and System Center 2012 R2 edition should I use?

Thanks guys!!

Hi

I would use the latest version of windows (server 2012 R2) and the latest version of System center as well (R2) and then apply the latest rollups to both as well.

Hi,

To monitor Hyper-v and VMs, we should import Hyper-v management pack.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36438

This management pack is for Hyper-v 2012, it provides the following functionality:
Management of critical Hyper-V services that affect virtual machines and host server functionality
Management of host server logical disks that affect virtual machine health
Full representation of virtualization in a single Hyper-V host server, including virtual networks, and virtual machines
Monitoring of virtual machine hardware components that affect availability

In addition, here is a smilar thread, please go through it:
