I have a network of around 2000 plus computers(Windows XP & Windows 7), The concerned department which distributes computers have not run sysprep at all on the master image compuer, so all the computer have the same SIDs. Will i face any issues with the computers communicating to the domain. Is there any article from microsoft which tells consequences which i may face for not running sysprep, i need it so that i could show them.

Hello, first and important information for you is that not sysprepped machines are NOT supported from Microsoft, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314828 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828287 will give you more about this. You may have issues with logon problems, applying GPOs and other problems may occur either. Be aware that also WSUS has problems if the master image is not prepared correct after using windows updates. Belongs NOT to sysprep but must be done also http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903262Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
