Sync Center Issue - Incorrect function

I have ran into an issue with Sync Center with some of my users, while others are unaffected. When a user that is affected attempts to sync with the share setup for their account setup something like \\host.server.local\home$\%USERNAME% it proceeds to give the error incorrect function. I have attempted to clear the offline database, turn off and on the offline files feature, also have attempted the OpslockEnable on the server but nothing seems to be working for it. 

Client: Windows 7 Pro x64

Server: Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition

Found the issue. The issue was related to Kaspersky anti-virus policy blocking access from auto syncing with the server. We uninstalled to test. It was successful. Now troubleshooting it with the current policy in place to see if it causes any issues.

I know it's an old post but did you ever come up with a valid policy for Kaspersky that allowed Syncing to work?
