Support Hi-Res displays in SSMS 2014

Hi,

When will SQL Team support hi-res displays (i.e. retina) in SQL Server Management Studio?

It looks ugly now (see attached screenshot)

Thanks,

Maxim

Hi miksmiks,

According  to your screenshot, I recommend you change the 'Compatibility Settings' for Ssms.exe. In SQL Server Management Studio properties, choose the Setting: 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings',  then reopen SSMS and backup database for checking if it run well.

In addition, turning full screen on this box and check if it can help for you.

If you want to backup database, you can use GUI or T-SQL statement, for more information, see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186865.aspx

Hi Sofiya,

Backup dialog is for example. It is ugly but all buttons and other controls are visible. But there are some dialogs that cannot be resized. For example, "Query Options". Please see attached screenshot. There is the dialog from SSMS 2008 (works fine on retina) on the left and from 2014 on the right on retina display. As you can see most of settings are not visible and cannot be set.

P.S. 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' didn't help

Thanks,

Maxim

Hi miksmiks,

In SQL Server 2008R2 and SQL Server 2012, all of settings are visible. personally, I recommend you submit a feedback to the Microsoft Connect at this link https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback. This connect site will serve as a connecting point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the large community for you and Microsoft to interact with. With a bug this serious, I hope SSMS 2016 fixes this. Having the same issue, rather sad that this got past QA
