Subreport could not be shown

Hello,

I have a report which has a subreport in it. If I deploy the report and its subreport to the root (not in any subfolder) on report server, everything is running fine. But if I deploy the report and its subreport to a folder on report server, the report does not run with a message "subreport could not be shown" or it simply spinning forever. Other reports that without a subreport are running fine within the same folder. Only the report with subreport does not run from a folder but can be running under root.

Can anyone give me a help? Any idea what I can do to make it running? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Lily,

The report that the subreport displays is stored on a report server, usually in the same folder as the parent report

Please find the log  and  check the exact reason for the failure

 C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\LogFiles

Check and let me know .

Hi Milan,

Thank you so much for your post!

I looked at the log and there is DataSourceNotFoundException, but not sure if the main or subreport datasource cannot be found. I checked the xml of my report files, both of main and subreport have the correct datasource. I donot understand how this happened. If something wrong with the datasource, why the report is running fine under the root.

Please shed some lights on it!!!

Hi Lily,

The subreport  should be in  the same folder as the parent report.
