Subnet w/ PPP
Hello,
This question may be simple for someone out there, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Here is what I am trying to do, connect a ppp vpn to a SBS03 network with a firewall. I have configured everything correctly so far, and can login into the domain from the remote location. Where my problem lies is with the subnet mask. The remote location primary addressis set to an address of 255.255.255.252 (which is required for the ISP) and the domain is set to 255.255.0.0. When I connect, I cannot see the network (ie when I browse the network or try to access a valid network address I cannot reach anything but the remote system). When I look at the IPCONFIG command, I see the VPN connector has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. I have tried to manually configure the remote system by putting a static address to the domain, but I still get the x.x.x.255 subnet mask address.
So my question is how do you manually configure the subnet mask on a ppp connection? Or do I need to do a translation on the serverside through routing & remote access? Or is there something else I may have missed? Or is there an easier way that I should have done??
