Subinacl for Windows 2008?
I'm trying to delete some stubborn files on my Windows 2008 file server and haven't been successfull so far. At a cmd prompt, running DIR doesn't display the file but in Windows Explorer I can see them. Their attributes are set at HSA but I can't change them or force a Change of Ownership on them. I ran across a Microsoft kb note that suggested trying the subinacl utility and running subinacl /onlyfile "\\?\c:\<var>path_to_problem_file</var>" /setowner=<var>domain</var>\<var>administrator</var> /grant=<var>domain</var>\<var>administrator</var>=F I can't see that subinacl will or should run on Windows 2008. Is there an alternate way to get there from here?Orange County District Attorney

Subinacl works on Windows Server 2008. If these files still cannot be deleted, please try to boot into Safe Mode and try to delete them again. Thanks. Thanks for the reponse. I ran across a post on the web that suggested using del *.* /f /a:s on the offending files and directories. I found that this worked perfectly for me.Orange County District Attorney
