Strange File behaviour between File Server running Windows Server 2008 r2 and Macs running Lion OSX
I have a few clients using Macs on Lion, they all have pc file servers running windows 2008 r2. One of the clients has reported some very odd behaviour with Creative Suite 5 files. They all connect via SMB. Basically two separate users can access the same file at the same time and are able to open it at the same time and work on it without being prompted that it is in use else where. I have never seen this before, there are also issues when working on files on the server then not being able to save back on the server (this is intermittent) so having to save on the file on their local desktop then drag and drop to replace the file on the server. Obviously SMB connection is the latest way to connect from a mac to a pc. AFP seemed far more stable. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
