Strange FTP Server issue
Couldn't find an appropriate forum for this, so I'll post this here. I have a really wierd issue. I have a series of Server 2008 R2 systems that I've isntalled and configured IIS7.5 and the FTP server on and they all have the same issue. If I configure the FTP Server binding to be anything other than port 21, (20, 22, 23, 29, 2121 are amoung those I tried) the FTP clients interact with the server as I expect. I can upload, download, move, create, delete and rename files and folders all day. I switch to port 21 and I can connect, I can download but I cannot for the life of me perform any create, renames, moves or uploads anything on the FTP server. And the ONLY thing that changed was the port binding on the FTP Server site inside IIS. And logs on the server will be lacking a data connection opened entry compared to the other ports I tested. Firewall is disabled, I've run thw various netsh commands enabling firewall rules for port 21 and both enabling and disabling stateful inspection and I'm at my wits end. Has anyone seen this before? Can anyone help me?
