Is there way to stop auto modification to Windows Registry on Server 2003 and be able to view who is modifying the Windows Registry and to accept or deny access to the modifier?

hi there, there is no concept called as auto modification in windows you have various tool to view who has modified permissions to any registry keys.but AFAIK , there is no dynamic tool which report you which users are modifying the registry.Remember the windows registry runs with the concept of DCALS / ACE and not ACL you can use regmon to see what is the registry activity done during an application installation.you can use xcacls utility , reg.exe utility , regperm utility, scanreg.exe utility.please have a look at the above utilities and let us know whether they suffice your needs.sainath Windows Driver Development
