I looked before I posted my question. It looks like Microsoft is trying to have people download SQL SERVER 2012 and that they have removed the links to download SQL SERVER 2008 R2 unless I just missed it.Thanks

You could also buy the developer edition of SQL 2008 R2 provided that you don't use it for production; -
