Some Windows 7 PC's cannot see 2012 server on the network

some of our Win7 PC's cannot see the server on the network but, can ping them. i can map a drive to the server without using the browse function. sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesnt. any suggestions?


Network discovery is on and computer browser service is enabled.

Hi:

Not being able to browse local network pcs is symptomatic of DNS problems.  In a Windows network the server should be the DNS server regardless of what is the DHCP server.  Can you verify that is the case and that you can ping by name in all directions as well as by IP?
