Slow upload speed to a blob

Hello,

We have a fiber link that support at least 200Mb/sec upload speed. I just performed an upload speed test with http://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Upload. On both EUR datacenters I got 8Mb/sec upload figures which is quite slow compared to what one could expect. Any comments on this?

Thank you

hi sir,

Base on my experience, Upload speed can be effected by many factors. For example, Network speed, the Disk IO Read/Write speed, Network Providers and the instance from sever and so on. So Microsoft Azure also don't guardant the upload/download speed SLA. According to above this , I recommend you can refer to this blog about Azure storage Scalability and performance:

Also, you could submit a support ticket to Azure support team  for more details

Thank you for your answer.

" For example, Network speed, the Disk IO Read/Write speed, Network Providers and the instance from sever and so on"

There is no need to put emphasis on that because: the very same PC is capable of transferring at more than 100 mega Bytes / sec on the LAN; because the very same PC is capable of upload transfers at 200 megabits /sec, thanks as I reported to the fiber link (tested against various internet suppliers)

So the real question is: what kind of network infrastructure Microsoft is offering to their clients in terms of speed between Paris downtown and one of the two EUR data centers. Obviously, it is not what one could expect at this stage, it is however of prime importance when it comes to get cloud services running efficiently. So 8 megabits/sec is pretty slow when the need is too move big chunks of data.

Thank you

Hi Nic75 -

As Will has stated already, please submit a support ticket. Hopefully they can help if they haven't already.
