Slow logon on second DC when the first is down
Hi, in my network i've 3 DC: dc1 DNS, DC, GC, FSMO (10.0.0.1) dns 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2 dc2 DNS, DC, GC (10.0.0.2) dns 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2 dc3 DNS, DC (10.0.0.3) dns 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2 the problem is than when the dc1 is down and i restart dc2, the logon process is very slow 5 minutes and also the stratup of dc2's services are very slow, after 5 minutes all work fine, when dc1 is up no problem appear, on dc3 there are no problem, I've try to set 10.0.0.2 as first dns server of dc2 but without results, have you soma suggests?

Let each DC/DNS server points to itsef as primary DNS server and to other DNS servers as secondary ones and check again. Hello, if the DNS server that is configured as preferred on the NIC is not available the fail over to another DNS server is not immediately. Ok but if I set the prefered DNS itself the problem remains!

Have you tried it after changing IP config settings? Please make sure that all is okay with your DNS records. I've solve the problem, the error was that not al GC was correctly registered in a DNS! Thankyou!
