Slow login seems to be caused by spooler
Hi Glenn,
Thanks for posting.
I would first try log in with spooler disabled.
Stop the print spooler
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781034(v=ws.10).aspx
If the login problem goes away when printer spooler service is disabled, then the problem is caused by spooler.
Try the printing troubleshooter Fixit Tool
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/printer-problems-in-windows
If no luck, check the Event log and see if any spooler errors logged.
Thanks

Try to disable printers mapping on the RDP client.
Check the event log for driver mapping errors to find the problematic printer.Regards, Liran.

Hi All.
I seem to have a weird problem. We have a 2003 server running with rdp, and has around 5 printers installed. We have an issues 2-3 times a week where it takes an age to login. When it's like this you can't see any printers put the print spooler is running.
If I kill the print spooler and restart, login and printers go back to normal.
I have tried updating printer driver incase this is the issue but still not had any luck.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
