In the resultant logs everthing goes quickly until it reaches the function: "ReconcileFile". That takes up to 15 minutes to finish. It does not indicate that there are any errors, it just takes a long time. When that is done logon finishes in less than 2 seconds.
Users have roaming profiles stored on a file server on the network. Each time a persion logs on their profile has to be recopied because we have a GPO that deletes their profile on the previous TS logoff. It is clear that users have too much in their profiles but before I can challenge that, I need to ensure that the logon is as efficient as possible.Their My Documents is redirected to a network share so are not downloaded to the TS on logon. In the Users account some users have Terminal Server Profiles indicated, others have regular roaming profiles. The regular profiles are left over from an earliertime but arethe result of TSlogons. Both types have the same problem. The linkspeed between the file server and the TS is 666mbps.
I can't find much about the ReconcileFile process or if it is available to be modified to make logon more quick. I am looking for ideas on this.
have you tried to use UPHCLEAN?

Hi to you. Yes we have institued the use of UPHCLEAN. I works well for ensuring that profiles are unloaded properly. I am beginning to think that all I can do for our process is redirect (using GPO)as much of the users profle as we can. I was hoping that there was a way to effect the ReconcileFile process like can be done with some copyingandbackup processes.
In my case: There were tons of published icon in C:\Documents and Settings\Default Users\Start Menu\Programs. Once they were cleaned up, all is fixed. All and all, just check to be sure Default Users directory is as clean as possible.
