Slmgr.vbs is gone.
Hello. A few days ago I've connected remotely to my server (Windows Server 2008 R2), and it was saying that the Windows wasn't genuine. The first thing I would try was seeing the License status, with the slmgr.vbs, and maybe trying to reactivate it.
For some reason, the file was deleted. I can't find it anywhere, except for a shortcut. If I reboot the server, no alerts are shown. Only after about 2 or 3 days of uptime that it happens again. Is there anyway I can recover the slmgr? I have some
backups, but I can't afford losing the new files. I tried sfc -scannow and the file was still missing. I can't reinstall the Windows. I need this server 24/7. I tried Microsoft Brazil support, but they didn't help me very much. Is there any virus that
can delete such file? There is an HD in the server reserved only for file storage of the workplace Library, that is updated everyday by computers with access to the Internet. I searched the server for .vbs files, and only shortcuts were found. I didn't have
any vbs of mine, but that's suspicious. I only installed the Norton Endpoint Protection 5 days ago, right after the "vbs crisis".
Update: Can I get the slmgr.vbs file from another server in my network? Would it work?

why don't you copy slmgr.vbs from another installation of windows server 2008 R2 ?
have you verified Norton Endpoint Protection logs searching for deletion of slmgr.vbs ?Edoardo Benussi - Microsoft MVP
