Sharing in Windows Server-2012 to specific users

Hi,

Iam trying to share a folder in windows server-2012 to specific people. But the folder is accessible to every user in the domain.

But in the sharing properties only few users are listed. But the folder is accessible to everyone. But he folder is not shared to all & everyone is also removed.

But i need to give access the folder to only specific people.

Regards.,

Sri

Hi Srinivas,

The reason why you are seeing this is because NTFS (under Security tab) permissions affect file access both locally and remotely.

Please remove access control entries of unnecessary users from the Security tab, or configure Deny entries under the share permissions tab.

More information for you:

check the security tab permissions.

or go to command prompt type:

icacls c:\shared_folder_name

this will list the security tab permissions.

share permissions - will apply permissions to shared folder over the network

NTFS permissions - will determine the permissions for both network and locally

Hope it help
